This course is for those who have little or no background in oral and written Chinese as well as basic phonetics (Pinyin). By investing the required time in the course, you will be able to communicate in Mandarin in basic everyday conversations including greetings and introductions, asking for directions and time, ordering food... You should be able to use at least 100 words effectively.

 

 

This course is built on the foundations of Beginners Mandarin 1, and will allow you to communicate in Chinese on colours and clothing, weather and holidays, daily routines, hobbies, subjects and making and taking telephone calls....Your vocabulary should increase as well as the phrases you learn.

 

This course aims to extend the knowledge you have learnt from the Beginners Mandarin and aims to increase your vocabulary and grammar, as well as being able to hold conversations at more occasions. You will learn to communicate in Mandarin on food and health, shopping and bargaining, buying gifts, appliances at home and at the work place, basic conversations with collegues at work....At the end of the course students should be able to, if they have consciously followed the course, communicate with native speakers, using at least 500 basic words.

 

This is an extension from the Intermediate Mandarin 1 course. Students will learn about China's language, geography, food and culture, holidays, bookings and travels, family tree, personality, local community...At the end of the course, you should be able to hold extended communications with native Chinese speakers.

 

The Advanced Mandarin 1 will increase your knowledge in the cultural and social aspects of China, as well as increasing your vocabulary and grammar and allowing you to use much more complex sentence structures. This course will have a stronger focus on Mandarin at work and written Chinese.

 

This is built on the foundations of Advanced Mandarin 1 and aims to develop skills in communicating about differences in customs, law and order, education and employment, environment, new technology, healthy life style...

 

This is ideal for students taking Mandarin exams at different levels. You will be able to communicate orally and written about the past, present and future, and express more about ideas, opinions and feelings. Courses will be personalised according to the student's oral and written ability.

 

The main focus of this course is oral communication at business occasions, at the same time allowing the learner to build vocabulary and grammar. It will be personalised for the nature of your business. At the end of the course, you should be able to hold basic conversations at the work place, meeting with a potential client, formal introductions and etiquette, preparations for meeting a buyer... as well as having gained a better understanding of the customs and practices in doing business in China.
